The Ascent 5-Day Rite of Passage offers boys a powerful transition into young manhood. This is our main event. It is a rare chance to disconnect from screens and distractions and reconnect with nature, with themselves, and with the strength of community.

Over five days, boys are guided through adventure, challenge, and reflection. They learn that vulnerability is not weakness but strength, that their emotions matter, and that their unique presence and contributions are vital to the group. Through shared cooking, team-building, and physical challenges, they grow in trust, resilience, and collaboration.

Physical tests stretch their courage, while solo time in nature offers space for quiet reflection. Around the fire, they hear honest stories from mentors, witnessing real-life experiences of struggle, growth, and wisdom. Rituals mark the passage from boyhood toward young manhood, making visible what is often invisible in our culture.

This rite of passage is not about perfection or proving themselves. It is about belonging, self-discovery, and the confidence that comes from being seen, encouraged, and celebrated. Boys come away with a deeper sense of self, a stronger bond with their peers and the knowing that they are not alone on this journey.

By the end of the five days, each boy has faced challenge, embraced vulnerability, and felt the strength of being witnessed — carrying home a renewed sense of confidence, aliveness, and belonging.

A central focus is communication—learning to name and express emotions, be seen, offer support, and normalise the emotional landscape of adolescence.

• Pornography, sex, and consent

  Your son is not required to participate in the 2 night fathers and Sons weekend, however it will lay the foundation of our rite of passage, and prepare the boys with confidence for the journey ahead.
